General Director, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Denmark
The Board of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Denmark is pleased to invite applications for the position of General Director. This is a rare opportunity to lead an exceptional organisation, where community, passion, and responsibility for a common cause are the driving forces every day.
MSF Denmark plays an active and respected role within the international MSF movement. As we enter the next global strategic period, we face escalating humanitarian needs, complex geopolitical developments, operational constraints, and increasing expectations for principled humanitarian action. Meeting these challenges will require strong, visionary, and value-driven leadership.
The General Director leads a dedicated executive team of passionate professionals across HR, fundraising, communications, learning and development, analysis and advocacy, support functions, and volunteer engagement. Together with the Management Team, the General Director leads an effective and well-functioning executive office, that promotes ambitions and dedication to the MSF working principles. The role serves as a key link between the Executive and the Board and contributes directly to the MSF International movement as a member of the full Executive Committee. In this capacity, the General Director ensures that MSF Denmark contributes effectively to medical humanitarian operations, strategy, and governance. Through MSF Associations, members have the right and responsibility to voice their opinions and help define and guide our social mission. The associations bring people together for formal and informal debates and activities – within our programmes, in national and regional general assemblies, and at the annual international assembly. The General Director supports, nurtures and facilitates support an active and engaged association in close strategic collaboration with the Board.
If you are committed to MSF’s social mission, driven by humanitarian principles, and motivated by the challenge of leading teams and shaping strategic direction in a complex international environment, we warmly encourage you to apply.
